Aberdeen Main Street offers volunteer opportunities for young adults looking to acquire community service-learning hours, or residents who want to assist their community, or even retirees looking to stay connected with their community. Economic Vitality
This committee focuses on capital, incentives, and other economic and financial tools to assist new and existing businesses, create property development, and support entrepreneurs and innovators that drive local economies. Representing this committee is Aberdeen's Economic Development Commission.
Design
The Design Committee capitalizes on the main street area’s best assets and creates an inviting atmosphere through window displays, parking areas, signage, sidewalks, street lighting, landscaping, and public art. They convey a visual message about the Main Street and what it has to offer. This committee is currently full.
Promotional
The Promotions Committee sells the image and promotes the Main Street to all prospects. Marketing the unique characteristics to visitors, investors, and new businesses. They forge a positive image through advertising, retail promotional activity and special events. Representing this committee is the Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce.
Organizational
Builds a team - a partnership of people and organizations that have a stake downtown. This committee keeps the other four committees, Economic Vitality, Design, Promotions, Clean Safe & Green, volunteers, and program-of-work in good shape by attracting people and money to the organization. This committee is accepting applications.
Clean, Safe & Green
Enhancing the communities perception of the downtown area through the principle of Smart Growth and sustainability.
Event Volunteers
Aberdeen Main Street host many events throughout the year and is always looking for volunteers to help. Our event are from 4-8 hrs. and we gladly accept any time you have to offer. Choose how you would like to volunteer, set-up or tear down, serving food and drinks, taking money for ticket, t-shirt or beer sales, or helping with games and activities.
